In order to ensure an overall program of excellence, Loganville Christian Academy uses a variety of publishers to accomplish the goals for its curriculum. At LCA, curriculum is the overview of what is to be accomplished on each grade level. We endeavor to foster natural curiosity and a passion for learning. Our teachers do not simply transmit information, but are facilitators of effective learning. Our students learn to make connections, test ideas and make sense of the world with their new knowledge through application in short-term and long-term activities and projects. Our students are well grounded in the basic facts of math and science and are able to use this information in real world problems and application. Our students are being trained to become critical thinkers.

Textbooks are just one of the resources we use to accomplish the curriculum. Textbooks are chosen with much research, thought and prayer. Possible choices for textbooks are evaluated by a team, supervised by LCA's Instructional Lead Teacher, for their academic value and their appropriateness in relationship to our conservative Christian environment.

The publishers that LCA use include both secular and Christian companies. Some of our publishers are Open Court, Everyday Mathematics, Bob Jones, ACSI, and ABeka. Students are taught that God's word is always the authority - not a textbook. In using several secular texts, teachers have the opportunity to teach children how to discern truth from error. Secular texts are always taught from a biblical perspective.

In our instructional program, high expectations are set for all students. To ensure achievement of this, we provide the following:

* competent teachers,
* an organized and coherent curriculum,
* lessons that are challenging yet designed to accommodate different learning styles, and
* a learning environment that is the epitome of caring and support.
